  1. I'm not a fan of how on most of the par 4 there is a period of rough for +50 yards before the green. This seems to me like a really artificial was of making the course tough. Basically it strikes me the MO for the course is 'let's make this really long and have zero bail out areas around the greens' which seems pretty unsophisticated to me. I caveat that I haven't played the course though!

  2. Hidden gem for so many years. Gotta give credit to the USGA for seeing the Major potential in it when they decided to get it back into form. It was run down and not taken care of for so many years, and NOW look at it. Gem. Classic. Beast.

  3. In my opinion, The Black is the greatest golf course this side of the Atlantic. We can't play Oakmont nor Augusta, but The Black welcomes all who dare test her
